Attention Parents and Students:
As we resume classes tomorrow, we are all still deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Thompson.
To support our students and faculty we will have counselors on site all day to help us process this tremendous loss. Optional care stations will be available for students to utilize the counselors in small group or an individual setting.
Please continue to pray for the Thompson family, our school, and community.
Attention parents, students, and staff: We have decided to move the homecoming coronation and dress up days to a later date. That date is yet to be determined. Thank you for understanding!
We are still in shock dealing with the unexpected loss of our HS Principal Mr. Thompson. Mr. Thompson was an amazing principal, teacher, coach, and friend, as well as a wonderful father and grandfather. He had the unique ability to see the good in everyone and every situation. His booming voice will be deeply missed echoing through our hallways and at all of our students’ sports and activities. He always put students first and went the extra mile to ensure their success. Please continue to pray for the Thompson family, our school, community, and all of the individuals that Mike impacted during his life. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
The high school quiz bowl team competed in the Cherokee Strip Tournament and brought home the championship plaque! Sophomore Chase Abele also brought home an All-Star trophy!
Our 5/6 Quiz Team competed in the District Tournament today, and came home Runners-up. Congratulations!
The Pre-k classes combined to play in the snow and build snowmen for Frosty Day!

Medford FFA students have been busy! Chapter Christmas party on Friday and MFE this weekend! Jenna Hanson and Lily Thomas attended ALD conference last weekend.
5th-8th grade English classes wrote Santa letters for Macy’s Make-a-Wish. Each letter written and sent to Macy’s will get a $2 donation from Macy’s toward the Make-a-Wish foundation. Another example of Medford students going above and beyond to put others before self!

Attention Parents:
At approximately 11am Grant County received a call that there was an active shooter at Medford School. This appears to be a statewide hoax that involves numerous districts across the state.
However, we took this as a serious threat and went into lock down as soon as Officer Sinor received the call. Administration and Officer Sinor cleared the building and Grant County provided support. Student safety is our top priority. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about this issue.

4-H and FFA swine showman from across the state attended the 2022 Medford/DCLA swine showmanship clinic instructed by Scott Dean of SD Genetics. The clinic was hosted at the Medford show facilities this weekend. This was an excellent learning opportunity for exhibitors as we gear up for our spring show season.
The annual Christmas tree decorating was a success! Cardinals are feeling the Christmas vibes now!
Congratulations Clinton Chaney!! Clinton was 2nd overall wheat in the Oklahoma State 4-H/FFA Wheat Show Contest and won a $2000 scholarship.
