Thank you for your understanding of our rescheduling of the PK, 1st, and 2nd grade field trip. We have been in contact with Tanganyika today and have officially rescheduled the trip to Thursday, May 9.
If you were attending as a parent, your ticket will still be valid that day and no further action is needed on your part.
If you are NOT able to attend now, please contact Tanganyika and they will assist you.
We do ask that you notify your child’s teacher either way of your intention to attend or not attend on Thursday to ensure that their plans are accurate. This can be done using the teacher’s classroom communication app (Dojo, Remind, etc.)

As a precaution to potential severe weather. Medford buses will be running at 1:30 today and we will dismiss at the same time. Any parent who needs their student to stay at school please notify the office or your child's teacher. Sorry for any inconvenience. Student safety is our number one priority.

In the event that there is severe weather during the school day today, the school basements will be open for any community member that needs a place to shelter. Also, we are monitoring the weather and will make decisions on bus routes etc to ensure student safety.

Out of caution for potential severe weather tomorrow, the PK, 1st, and 2nd grade field trip to Tanganyika is being postponed. We will communicate the new date as soon as possible once we are able to reschedule with them in the morning. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but the safety of our students is always our priority!

Yesterday, junior Colton Cink competed as an individual at the 2A Regional golf tournament where he played incredibly! Like golf can be, a couple of shots stood in his way of making it to the state tournament. He missed qualifying by 3 strokes but came in 21st overall in a qualifier of 92 players. Congratulations on a fantastic season Colton! ⛳️🤍❤️

1st-4th Grade Parents/Guardians:
As of now, the track meet tomorrow is still on as planned. The order of events is attached. Please have your child wear a Medford shirt and send plenty of water and sunscreen. IF the decision is made to cancel the track meet, we will notify you through text message, phone call, and a Facebook post.

There will be a send-off in front of the school for the State Track athletes Thursday, May 2, immediately following the Band/Music Concert (approximately 7:15). Go Cardinals!

From discus ring to putting green, senior Skylar Anderson put down to the discus late last night and picked up her clubs early this morning to compete at the second day of the OSSAA 2A State Golf Tournament. She was unable to golf on Monday due to the Regional track meet being moved, but the OSSAA allowed her and a couple of other girl golfers to compete in day 2 to get their earned experience.
Congratulations Skylar on a great season and an incredible high school golf career as a two-time state individual qualifier. ⛳️❤️🤍

April 29-May 5 Weekly Calendar

A small delegation of MHS STUCO members traveled to Del City HS yesterday to attend Alva STUCO's Spring Summit event "OASC Playbook". Students were able to choose to attend 3 breakout sessions focusing on whatever topic they felt their school needed most, like schools spirit, hosting districts, school wide events, teacher appreciation, pep assemblies, philanthropy, and much more. The event was capped off with a pep rally hosted by Bixby HS.
It was a super informative day and an excellent example of what makes the OASC so special-fantastic collaboration amongst OASC schools and advisors all looking for ways to help STUCO's improve home schools and their student culture. MHS walked away with some excellent ideas and feel better equipped to take on the task of hosting all of District 2 this September.
On the way, toy drive donations were dropped off at the Enid YWCA.

HS Regional Track Meet planned for Saturday has been postponed until Monday, April 29th at Cherokee, due to the weather. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mary Evans and Kylie Keller of Medford High School have been elected to the FCCLA North 2 District officer team. Mary was elected president, and Kylie will be vice president of public relations.
Both will attend District Officer Training (DOT) in mid-June to further develop their leadership skills.
